Carla is a photographer with a degree in Communication Advertising at the Universidad Anáhuac in Mexico City. Carla has a attended numerous photographic courses and workshops at UCLA and with Julia Dean in Venice, CA. She has an Occupational Certificate in Photography from Santa Monica College in Los Angeles, CA. Attended a summer program called Photographic Collage: an exploration of photography & painting at Anderson’s Ranch art center in Colorado.
Her lens is a medium that allows her to express herself by getting in touch with her inner self. This allows her the ability to inspire her curiosity and imagination, all while creating something that represents her unique perspective and sharing this perspective with her audience.
Aparicio believes there is always a story to share, a life lesson to uncover, and a moment to capture. Nature, music, architecture and the uniqueness in people inspire her deeply and remind her how interconnected our world really is.
Photography is timeless and transcends all boundaries. Photography has been her passion, her therapy and her faithful companion in the past twenty years.
Carla has been transforming and expanding her art in areas of personal evolution, such as yoga, meditation, as well as in collaborative project such as hand-weaving her photography with communities in Nepal, Puebla and estado de Mexico. Through these projects she states “We are not only co-creating and transforming art, or only weaving photography, we are uniting intentions, cultures, experiences and being part of this interconnected web of creative souls”
